Safe Travelling and Parking

As St Bede’s is in a residential area and situated on a main road, parking around school is very limited. If you need to travel by car there is limited parking on Howlett Hall Road. Whickham View is quite a busy road and can become very congested at drop off / pick up times. We ask parents to park safely and legally and with respect to our school neighbours.

We encourage parents to walk to school whenever possible as this will not only reduce congestion around school, improve safety for pedestrians but also promotes a healthy lifestyle.

Since the recent budget cuts, which have reduced funding for school crossing patrols, St Bede’s has employed their own Lollipop Lady to aid safe crossing on Whickham View.
