School Day

Gates open at 8.40am

This is to allow for a soft opening for all children - this reduces congestion within the school building but also reduces congestion on the surrounding roads for our neighbours.  .

(Year 1 and 2 via entrance on Howlett Hall Road)

(Reception, Years 3 to 6 via entrance on Whickham View)

All children are offered a breakfast bagel upon arrival to class as we recognise that children learn best when they a not hungry.

Lessons begin at 8.50am.

All children have a 15 minute break during the morning session.

The lunch breaks are staggered with all classes having a 55minute lunch break.

Afternoon breaks are 15 minutes for children in Reception to Year 4.  Year 5 and 6 have a 10 minute break.

The school day finishes at 3.20pm for all children.

The school week is 32.5 hours for all children.

We operate a school-led breakfast club to help to support our working parents.  Our own school staff lead the breakfast club which starts from 8.00am.  

Breakfast Club cost £2.00 per day (reduced cost for pupils in receipt of pupil premium funding) and children must be booked in prior to the day.  All monies fund breakfast and games / activities / resources which are used in breakfast club.
